barroom bridegroom 

Its pretty boring I know but I want

to do more things over and over like

cook and watch the same yellow movie i like,

as nice as a concert in a dark brown bar

with a wedding playing in the background and cold

caramel mugs toasting sweaty faces. my kind of pink trip 

a bird bath, purple steam coming out from a light blue movie

a shrink wrapped gift basket of board games

for someone moving to the country--is that mean?

I can’t figure out the distance
between what I don’t know and can do
I remember when I was young trying to find out why dirt was brown
with a mug and a spoon
not very different now

always tallying but

never keeping track like
putting notches on different belts that i keep losing

nothing's gone, just buried somewhere in the background
