I asked the kid what his lizard's name was
I thought, is it Constantine?
no that was the name of the other kid's fish
at the same time I realized this
an In-n-Out employee spun around
to pick up a napkin,
to show his name tag, Constantine

sometimes I water down my memories
because I get so overwhelmed by the atmosphere of omg
but if they do point to what I think they do-
connection, magic, god, obviously-
I shouldn't need to.
I know the universe doesn't need me to be its scales.
