the walk poem baby photo prompt poem

lost on Friday’s landscape

blurry I love you
on a tight shirt
that says expansion

her thumb’s the size of my nail

black and pink
hoodies
blurry couch and
holiday slant

the metaphors that truly flop
like god being dad
and others

leaving to think about the photo
because that’s how
forever ive known it

the baby is brought to you by the other side
stretched to the end of world and
back

slide her into ballet slipper
socks

a dream held by an adult

it was

like taking apart the photo

I picture her
 all around the block
