Christmas in Chicago and the Chanel 
mannequins all have their backs turned

I heard it on the radio on headphones on the bus

‘you cannot take it with you’

but I bring my mine everywhere

even bought one today

buying a box to turn on is
just like opening a window 

yellow price tag stuck under my yellow nails 

can't get rid of it

or turn it off

I am for/by/about the radio

i'm a laid back traveler
with a back seat attitude
on the bus
and the airwaves 

or I'm working hard on one thing
letting the dj take care of everything else

like when they make themselves scarce but keep things groovy

potential getting eaten up by the day's work

once a thing is a thing...
